Spicy vegan cauliflower hommus dip

Cauli hummus is great & fills you up, can eat as much as you like. Make it as spicy as you like too, keeps well in the fridge for up to 5 days.

Spicy vegan cauliflower hommus dip (grain & nut free)

Spicy and flavoursome dip for your vege sticks. Great to bring to a party or function too.

Ingredients
  1. 1 small cauliflower head, broken into florets
  2. olive oil
  3. sea salt
  4. 2 - 3 tsp harissa
  5. 1 lemon, juiced
  6. 1 clove garlic
  7. water
  8. vegetables for dipping
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees. line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  2. Place cauliflower florets on baking sheet + drizzle with olive oil + sprinkle with harissa + sea salt. roast for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through. remove from oven + cool for 15 minutes
  3. In a food processor, add cauliflower, 1 tbsp olive oil, lemon juice + garlic. blend to desired consistency, adding water, 1 tbsp at a time, if necessary. season to taste with sea salt
  4. Serve with vegetables
Notes
  1. This is made using a hot chilli paste with Tunisian flavours, Harissa, you don't need much, just from supermarket or possibly deli,lasts for ages & very flavoursome.
  2. Other spice mixes are good too ! Cauliflower takes on whatever flavour you give it

    As I can’t have harissa due to spicy food having a reaction after having my gallbladder removed what can I use instead please?

      Hi Toni ! Apologies for the delay, I somehow missed your post. I would recommend 1 tsp of paprika or a ground cumin & coriander mix. Even just Sumac, available from some deli / middle eastern grocery shops. Just add a little then keep adding until you are happy with the taste.
