Two festive “bring a plate” ideas …. Tomato picks & minty dip jars
Parties are always a bit hard. Here’s two simple hand held ideas if you are asked to bring a plate. Remember tooth picks aren’t kiddie friendly, so care should be taken, deary me ! These were my little testers for the weekend, both were good, consider giving them a go !
- Tomato picks : simply layer on a tooth pick a caper, cherry tomato half, two basil leaves, cucumber round, next two basil leaves, finishing with the other tomato half. Garnish with a mix of salt, pepper, crushed garlic, balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Have a jug on the side if people want more.
- Minty dip jars : make a double quantity of the minty “yoghurt” cauli dip from here , spoon into small jars or glasses or plastic cups. Stick a variety of long veggies in for people to dip away to their hearts content. I also added a sumac topping to add a bit of red colour. You could also do commercial salsa, just check the carb content. Full credit to my sister in law Louise who served something similar at my nieces first birthday 🙂 that’s where I got the idea !
Hope these help a little bit !
